Peyton Reed isn’t making ‘Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man’ – he’s making ‘Ant-Man’

Marvel president Kevin Feige has been quoted as saying that “Ant-Man” will follow the “entire template” of Edgar Wright's original vision despite the filmmaker's recent departure from the project – though as new director Peyton Reed points out, that doesn't mean the film will fall exactly in line with Wright's ideas.

“There's stuff that's definitely changing in the movie, and as a director of a movie you want to sort of put your own stamp and tell your own version,” Reed told us while promoting the film at San Diego Comic-Con. “As a Marvel fan, who grew up with 'The Avengers' and 'Ant-Man' and everything, I definitely have my own sort of feelings about what I want to see as a fan in an 'Ant-Man' movie. So you know, it's evolved in that way.”

In other words: Peyton Reed isn't making “Edgar Wright's Ant-Man.” He's making “Ant-Man.”
