Play it again Spike. Network orders ‘Caraoke Showdown’ to series

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, James Corden must be glowing right now. But we”re guessing he”s not, unless he gets residuals.

Spike TV has greenlit Caraoke Showdown, a karaoke game show that takes place in a car, this according to Variety. If this sounds a heck of a lot like one of Corden”s Late Late Show signature sketches, “Carpool Karaoke,” you”re not alone.

The publication is reporting that the show, which they describe as being like Cash Cab with singing in it, will be hosted by Craig Robinson. The network did a one-time special earlier this year, but now they”ve decided to order 10 episodes.

Spike has done well with music-themed programming. Lip Sync Battle, where celebs lip sync to their favorite tunes, is among their biggest hits ever. Season 2 of that show averaged 1.13 million viewers, with the season premiere drawing 2.5 million viewers (plus an additional 2.2 million in “live+3”).
