The new drama “The Judge” is both a traditional courtroom narrative and an intense story of father-son friction, but stars Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall found the balance easy to strike since director David Dobkin gave them specific time before the movie to get to know each other. What's not as easy for Duvall, however, is watching some of his old films.
“Sometimes when I see myself in a movie [on TV], I pass over it,” Duvall told us. “If I thought it was good way back, I think maybe it's not good anymore. So I keep going.”
We caught up with the stars of “The Judge” to discuss their old movies, the fun of finally getting to work with one another, and the costars they really want to work with again.
“The Judge,” which premiered at TIFF, opens October 10.
