Robert Pattinson’s ‘Bel Ami’ finally hitting theaters on June 8

Robert Pattinson’s next film has finally been given a release date.

Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to distribute “Bel Ami” – a film based on the 1885 novel by French author Guy de Maupassant that stars Pattinson as George Duroy, an ambitious young man who infiltrates Parisian high society in the 19th century by bedding several prominent upper-class women – and slated it for a June 8 release. Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci play three of his main conquests in the film, which was co-directed by British theater veterans Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod from a script by Rachel Bennette.

It’s been a long road to the screen for the production, which started filming way back in February 2010 in Budapest and London (Pattinson shot it between “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”). It had its world premiere at last month’s Berlin International Film Festival.

You can view the film’s official trailer below.
