Scarlett Johansson’s Next Comedy Outing Will Fight Michael Bay’s Transformers

Scarlett Johansson is certainly more well-known for being an action star than anything else, but she's set to lead the cast of some very funny women soon for Sony in Rock That Body. Besides Johansson, it boasts Ghostbusters' Kate McKinnon, Broad City's Ilana Glazer, and Workaholics's Jillian Bell. And we've just found out they'll be going up against the Transformers.

The previously named Move That Body is now Rock That Body and Broad City's Lucia Aniello is set to direct with a script by Aniello and Paul W. Downs (who will also be in the film). The screenplay was on the 2015 Black List and feels like a little bit The Hangover and a little bit Weekend at Bernie's if you ask me.

Deadline writes, “The raunchy comedy follows a group of friends whose wild bachelorette party goes so far off the rails, that a male stripper turns up dead.” Zoe Kravitz was also recently in talks to star.

The most recent news reveals Rock That Body has been given a release date of June 23, 2017. That puts it smack dab against Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight. And even though folks constantly say how much they don't actually like Bay's films, you know it will be tough competition at the box office.

Johannson hasn't really been in any HA-HA comedies, and Rock That Body certainly sounds like it has a dark side to it, but perhaps that Black Widow SNL sketch woke up a few folks in Hollywood to her comedic talent.
