When Star Wars came out in 1977, Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok) was seven years old. By the time he was eleven, the actor had gone from being a fan of a galaxy far, far away to becoming a part of it. During Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017, Davis was the host for the 40th anniversary panel, during which he thanked George Lucas for letting him be a part of that world.
Then, as the icing on the cake, Davis shared a letter he wrote to George Lucas after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi had wrapped filming. The letter was a sweet thank you and — because Davis was still a child — a hilariously unsubtle attempt at scoring free Star Wars swag.

Dear Mr. Lucas,
My name is Warwick. I hope you remember me. I helped you make the new ‘Star Wars’ film last year. I hear that the film is being released in this country on June 2nd and that a few of the toy shops in London have some of the new figures.
I hope this is not too rude of me to ask you, but would it be possible for you to send me the very latest figures and walkers — I was hoping very much that there may be an ‘Ewok’ or ‘Jabba the Hut [sic].’
I did enjoy myself with you and the members of the film unit and keep remembering what a terrific experience it was.

Davis then showed a picture of his smiling child self, surrounded by the latest figures from Return of the Jedi, all of which he still has. Except for the capes. Those always get lost.
