Fresh off appearing in not nearly enough of Suicide Squad as the Joker, Jared Leto has signed on to another iconic property. The Oscar winner has joined the upcoming Blade Runner sequel.
Already in the cast of the follow-up to the classic 1982 Ridley Scott movie are Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, and Mackenzie Davis. Harrison Ford will also reprise his role as Deckard.
Blade Runner 2, now set to hit theaters on October 6, 2017 after a few release date changes, will be directed by Denis Villeneuve. He received acclaim for last year”s Sicario, and now that we”ve seen the trailer for his upcoming first contact movie Arrival, it”s looking like we”ll get to see some solid sci-fi from the Québec-born filmmaker ahead of the return to Philip K. Dick”s future.
No details about Leto”s role have been revealed yet. But we”re all in agreement that he”d make an excellent replicant, yes?
