Watch: Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ gets electric full-length trailer

Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” has been reanimated with a brand-new trailer.

The upcoming stop-motion animated film – a feature-length remake of Burton’s 1984 live-action short – definitely caught my interest back in May after I screened several stellar minutes of footage, and this first full-length preview reminds me of why. While watching the gorgeous black-and-white visuals on a laptop can’t compare to seeing them projected on a large screen, it’s nevertheless a fantastic trailer that evokes the same spirit of macabre wit that has characterized Burton’s best efforts.

“Frankenweenie” centers on a young boy named Victor Frankenstein who reanimates his dog Sparky after the beloved pooch dies in a tragic accident. Unfortunately, the successful experiment leads to chaotic consequences for Victor’s suburban town.

My grade for the trailer: A+. After watching it above, rate it for yourself at top left!

“Frankenweenie” hits theaters on October 5.
