Fast National ratings for November 11, 2011.
It was another bad Friday night for “Chuck,” a worse-than-usual showing for “Fringe,” plus another week of declines for NBC’s increasingly less impressive “Grimm.” Those are really just the footnotes to yet another easy overall Friday win for CBS and yet another slim win among young viewers.
Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.5 rating, edging out FOX’s 1.4 rating and the 1.3 rating for NBC. ABC was fourth in the key demographic with a 1.1 rating. The CW averaged a 0.7 rating for the night.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 9.86 million viewers to go with a 6.3 rating/11 share. ABC’s 3.6/6 and 5.22 million viewers were a distant second for the night, with NBC’s 2.8/5 and 4.42 million viewers taking third. FOX was fourth with a 2.1/4 and 3.49 million viewers. The CW averaged 1.2/2 and 1.85 million viewers.
8 p.m. – CBS’ “A Gifted Man” remained stable in first overall with 8.25 million viewers, but also stable in second with a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” was second overall with 4.21 million viewers and fourth with a 0.8 key demo rating. FOX’s “Kitchen Nightmares” was third overall with 3.92 million viewers and won the hour in the key demo with a 1.6 rating. NBC’s “Chuck” averaged 3.17 million viewers and a 0.9 key demo rating, both almost imperceptibly up from last week. The CW’s “Nikita” averaged 1.9 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating.
9 p.m. – “CSI: NY” won the 9 p.m. hour overall with 10.16 million viewers and also finished first among adults 18-49 with a 1.7 rating after briefly dropping to second last week. ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” was second overall with 5.58 million viewers and tied for third with a 1.1 key demo rating. NBC’s “Grimm” was down to 5.19 million viewers overall and a 1.5 key demo rating, declining for the second straight week in both measures. FOX’s “Fringe” could muster only 3.07 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating, both down from last week. The CW’s “Supernatural” averaged 1.79 million viewers and a 0.8 key demo rating in fifth.
10 p.m. – “Blue Bloods” held its position as Friday’s most watched show with 11.18 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49, both down from last week’s season highs. ABC’s “20/20” averaged 5.87 million viewers to beat the 4.9 million for NBC’s “Dateline,” which both newsmagazines averaged 1.4 key demo ratings.
