The Taken series made a boatload of money for Fox by appealing to people who just want to see Liam Neeson kicking ass and shooting people (i.e. millions and millions of people), a thrill that — as this supercut proves — could have easily “taken” up only 90 seconds of your time (and debited exactly zero dollars out of your bank account). It's too late to turn back time, but I like that this montage boils down precisely what these movies are: big, dumb, violent, spectacles that simultaneously mirror and vindicate the toxic strain of vigilantism that pervades American culture.
