The Saturn Awards have been around for over 40 years, and chances are you've never heard of them.
So what are they, then? As someone who has covered two past ceremonies (2010 and 2011), I was frankly shocked to discover that actual giant celebrities and directors attend the show every year. Among the big names the years I attended: A-list filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Sam Raimi, “Carrie” and “Let Me In” star Chloe Grace Moretz, “True Detective's” Michelle Monaghan and “Chuck” star Zachary Levi. Not exactly the Oscars! But still impressive for a ceremony that isn't televised or generally talked about.
