When it comes to hyping a title fight for UFC, there’s clearly no better place than CNBC. That’s why anchor Jane Wells welcomed Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz to talk a bit about their fight on Saturday night, but only from a financial perspective. This is something that clearly didn’t sit well with Diaz from the start of the interview, but Wells soldiered on and traversed the odd chat with the fighters.

McGregor seemed to be a natural during the interview, trash talking Diaz, discussing how much money the fight will earn, and dropping idle “threats” when Wells inquires how much McGregor is actually worth:

“There’s people buried in the desert for less than that. You must think I trust you with these kind of things. How much are you worth?”

He then asks to see a picture of Wells and continues to knock on Diaz a bit, mostly about his inability to count past the number five. Diaz finally just rips off his microphone and walks off the interview, something you think he should’ve done before it even started given his contributions.

It’d be easy to call this a trainwreck of an interview, but it just adds to the fire ahead of this fight on Saturday. Having fighters discuss financials looks terrible on paper, but Conor McGregor seems to make anything seem interesting. Now will someone finally fetch him some coffee?
