Roman Vlasov won a second Olympic gold medal Sunday in the 75kg Greco-Roman competition, but this time, he did it after waking from unconsciousness. Facing off against Croatia’s Bozo Starcevic, Vlasov got caught in an arm-in guillotine which was turned into what looked like a muscled d’arce choke. Starcevic rolled, and Vlasov flopped over to the side where his extremely unconscious face was revealed to the world.
Needless to say, he was disappointed and probably pretty darn foggy.
After being tended to, he was allowed to continue and went on to win his match. He then defeated Denmark’s Mark Overgaard for the gold medal.
Try to go unconscious and then win, Michael Phelps!
