Back in October, the perceptive Dana Carvey theorized how everyone would love to see Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in a room together. However, Trump has dropped hints of approval for Putin in several interviews, saying he thinks they’d get along great. The feelings must be mutual, for Vlad the Bad dropped some mutual love for Trump during a Thursday press conference:
“[Trump] is a very outstanding person, talented, without any doubt. He wants to move to another level of relations, a closer, deeper level of relations with Russia. How can we not welcome this? Of course we welcome this.”
Well, Bill O’Reilly seems to find this budding bromance as hilarious as the rest of the world does. O’Reilly and Trump already enjoy strained relations with the former wasting precious energy to counsel Trump over ISIS and Syrian refugees. This did not work, nor did O’Reilly’s attempt to encourage Trump to not be such a troll in general. Needless to say, O’Reilly finds Putin’s respect of Trump to be ridiculous. On Thursday’s episode of The O’Reilly Factor, he weighed in on the international bromance at play:
“By the way. Trump apparently has made Putin his friend. Because idiot Putin today is going, ‘I love Donald Trump’ – he doesn’t speak English, but in a Russian accent, that’s what he was saying. He loves Trump.”
Geraldo Rivera was also on hand to add, “That’s a pretty lame accent.” Very helpful, Geraldo.
By the way, Trump and O’Reilly had another little spat on Wednesday. Trump took a few moments away from his Mesa, Arizona debate following the latest CNN GOP Debate to complain to O’Reilly about unfair media treatment. Trump was upset at how Wolf Blitzer zeroed in on all of the outlandish things that come from Trump’s mouth. Then Trump added, “Honestly, I think I get better press from CNN than I do Fox, Bill. I don’t know why that is.” Them’s fighting words!
