With a box of tissues by his side, frequently weepy Ohio Rep. John Boehner stepped down as Speaker of the House this morning in Washington.
“I leave with no regrets, no burdens,” he said. “If anything, I leave the way I started: just a regular guy, humbled by the chance to do a big job.”
Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s running mate in 2012, was elected to replace Boehner.
