The presidential campaign of Lindsey Graham has come to an end after a valiant fight. His decision arrives after Graham slogged through a stream of “early debates,” which meant he rarely got to play at the GOP’s version of the big kids’ table. Those mini-debates can’t be easy to endure, but Graham still had fun after Donald Trump retaliated against the lesser candidate by giving out Graham’s phone number during a campaign speech. Graham’s offense, of course, was that he branded Trump a “jackass” for his immigration stances.
Graham, who never rose above a 1% approval rating, did make one promise (“to drink more”) that stood out among a slew of dull fellow candidates.

The official “drop out” announcement arrives courtesy of USA Today, which acquired an email addressed to Graham supporters. The former candidate said, “While we have run a campaign that has made a real difference, I have concluded this is not my time.” Graham also declined to formally endorse another candidate, but he hopes the presidential race will continue to focus on the fight against terrorism.
Twitter was in fine (yet confused) form to wish Graham farewell.
Inspired by Lindsey Graham's announcement, I'm announcing I'm breaking up with my girlfriend who left me to marry someone else 20 years ago.
