The South Carolina Republican primary has spoken and Donald Trump has won all 50 of the state’s delegates. With this latest win, both sides of the aisle are realizing that The Donald is for real, and the race for the White House is beginning to warm up. And even though the campaign is getting hot, Washington’s wheels turn as usual with press events hosting the nation’s lawmakers still going off without a hitch despite some eyebrow-raising moments.

At the 72nd annual Washington Press Club Foundation Congressional Dinner — a sort-of roast for politicians and journalists — South Carolina’s republican senator Lindsey Graham cracked a joke about Ted Cruz that has some saying he may have gone too far:
“If you kill Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial is at the Senate, no one will convict you.”

The outspoken senator then put on a Make America Great Again hat that clearly signaled his loyalty in the presidential race:

This reinforces the general dislike of Ted Cruz by his opponents and compatriots alike, but to say the Senate would look away as a murder was committed in the very place they work to better the American people is concerning and disrespectful to say the least. Cruz has seemed to ruffle just about everyone’s feathers as he continues his campaign to take the White House.
