Ask Alan: Why aren’t the networks cancelling shows this fall?

Happy Friday, everybody! As previously discussed, Ask Alan is now a weekly show. Thanks for filling up the mailbox with lots of great questions, and please keep ’em coming to askalan@hitfix.com (as always, the more tightly-phrased, the better).

On this week’s episode (recorded Tuesday), I answer questions about great characters who weren’t part of their shows’ first season, what Yahoo’s $42 million loss on “Community” and “Other Space” means for Peak TV in America, and why we’ve somehow made it to Halloween without a single network show being officially canceled yet, even though series like “Minority Report” and “The Player” are effectively dead, but still airing. That’s all embedded below.

Thanks, send questions, and see you next week!
