We haven’t heard much from Ronda Rousey these last few weeks. She’s gone quiet on social media following her stunning defeat at the hands (and foot) of Holly Holm. She briefly posted a message on Instagram the day after the fight thanking fans for support. But that’s it. Nothing after that.
Now, to be fair, Rousey said she was going to take some time off after UFC 193. It was just that nobody thought it would come after a loss. Everyone assumed she would make the media rounds after defeating Holly Holm, then go work on movie projects (among other things). But that obviously didn’t happen. She went into hiding, she went private (and she had every right to do so).
But she emerged on Thanksgiving with a smile thanks to this amusing photo from her outspoken mother on Instagram.
“Every family get together we try to do a theme picture for my mom. #thanksgiving theme was funny hats”
Ronda Rousey is down, but not out. She’ll likely need to make changes ahead of a rematch with Holly Holm. Changes that could come at the expense of her coach Edmond Tarverdyan, who appeared to be unprepared for a striker of Holm’s caliber. But that’s a whole other issue. For now she’s just enjoying some time with her family.
