Apple Is Reportedly Working On An Online TV Service Slated For The Fall

Last week, Apple announced they’ll exclusively offer the HBO Now standalone service. The move seems to have once again stoked the rumors that a web-based TV product from the company is right around the corner.

Late Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported Apple is looking to put together a 25 channel streaming TV service — and that big networks like CBS, Fox, and ABC (that includes ESPN) will be coming along for the ride. Currently, guesstimates are putting the price at around $30 to $40 a month. NBC is allegedly not included in talks at this time, probably due to the falling out Apple had with parent company Comcast last year.

There are still many uncertainties regarding this rumor, but thing is for certain: if an online TV service becomes available on Apple devices, it’ll be game changer. Sure, we already have a decent choice when it comes to online streaming options. But with Apple’s massive reach, this new service could easily be the tipping point that finally makes cutting cable a mainstream phenomenon.
