Last month, one determined fan took it upon herself to infiltrate the set of Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. A film student by the name of Samantha Gardella discovered that the hit series uses an abandoned psych ward near her hometown as the Litchfield Prison set, so of course she took a little road trip to see the place in person.
Gardella brought a few printed out screen grabs from the show and took some photos as she matched them up against the actual on-set locations. It took a couple weeks, but soon after she posted them to her Tumblr page, the official OITNB Twitter account took notice and issued their “newest inmate” this citation:

While the show’s social-media team helped make her experience a bit more memorable, the legal team at Lionsgate TV had a different reaction altogether. Gardella received this formal warning regarding her trespass soon after her trip went viral.
While it may not have been wise to share the correspondence on social media, it looks like the message was received. At any rate, you can check out the pics Gardella took below:
I’m sure the aspiring filmmaker learned a thing or two about entering private property without permission and all that, but wouldn’t it be some sweet irony if she wound up in a real-life version of the all-female correctional facility?
Not for nothing, but I’m sure there are some crazy fans out there who would be into that sort of experience.
