Hey, remember last season on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Where it took forever for them to introduce anything? And we all complained about it?

Apparently, the production staff were listening. A lot’s crammed into this clip, from Skye apparently taking a level in badass after being betrayed by Ward, to Lucy Lawless’s new character and her involvement in the team, to… well, we don’t want to spoil the whole thing. Suffice to say, though, the whole episode’s set up in less than two minutes, and that’s the kind of narrative efficiency we want to see.

It’s not all good news, though: Screenrant has a few spoilers, including the return of a character they really don’t need. Still, overall, this is a much stronger start to this season than what the show kicked off with, and it’s a nice touch that they’re treating it like an espionage show with supervillains. And since that’s an A-list supervillain in the clip, we hope they keep it up. Or start using the funny villains: Let’s have an episode where Coulson and the team square off against, say, Leapfrog. But we’ll see exactly what they’re up to soon: The show will premiere at 9pm EST tomorrow.
