Bryan Cranston Responds To The Lex Luthor Casting Rumor

Last week we repeated a rumor about Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor in Man Of Steel 2. We also enjoyed a mashup trailer casting Cranston in the role. Now Bryan Cranston has commented on the rumor in an interview with The Boston Globe.

“I’ve heard that too,” he said. And what about those reports that he’s signed to play Luthor in as many as six Man of Steel movies? He laughed. “Six? This is all news to me. I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’ The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him.” […] “I think I’ll relax the rest of the year. There’s some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about, but nothing is set.” [Boston]

Although he could just be keeping the casting a secret, we’re facing a very real possibility that Cosmic Book News fabricated a story to get all our hopes (and their pageviews) up. Or as The Shiznit hilariously puts it, Writer of Lex Luthor casting rumour blows goats, says anonymous source.

We’re still hoping he’s cast. It’s still real to me, damn it!

And how awesome would it be if each of Bryan Cranston’s roles continued to foreshadow the next?
