Jason David Frank is likely familiar to you as various Power Rangers, but when he’s not running around making karate noises in a custom motorcycle helmet, or doing convention appearances, he’s managing a karate school and getting into mixed martial arts fights.
Apparently part of that job is trying to break a Guinness world record for a goofy stunt.
According to Frank’s Facebook page, he’ll be attempting to break the Guinness world record for breaking pine boards while skydiving.
If you’re wondering how this works, here’s video of the current record holder, one Clifford J. Crandall, who did this to teach small children about safety (by negative example, we’re assuming).
To be fair, arranging something like this is an extremely complex operation. Everybody involved has to be fully trained in skydiving, has to get into position quickly, and then they actually have to break the boards. Then they have to keep a strong grip on the broken boards because otherwise somebody could be killed. This isn’t going to be easy.
That said, it’s a pretty strange sight, either way. And we’ll get to see it, too: Apparently the whole thing will be filmed by Guinness’ official channel and the footage posted to YouTube.
So, yes, we’ll get to see the Green Ranger do an air combo. Maybe for his next appearance, he can re-enact the bonus round from Final Fight and trash a Honda.
