Last weekend, 9/11 hero/white affluence performance artist Gwyneth Paltrow nourished her inner aspect by taking in a Kanye West and Jay-Z Watch The Throne concert in Paris, France. At some point she was on the stage, because of course Gwyneth Paltrow would get to be on the stage of a Kanye West and Jay-Z concert in Paris, France, while we were not. She then tweeted a picture of herself on stage with the note, “Ni**as in paris for real.” Yep. That happened.
Would I be bringing this up if it had been tweeted by someone other the whitest woman who ever white-ed? Nope. Am I maybe taking cheap shots at Gwyneth Paltrow because I’m biased and weary of oblivious rich people offering misguided advice through a “lifestyle journal?” Of course. Will I take it back later? I REGRET NOTHING.
Here is the tweet in question and Paltrow’s response to a criticism thereof:
Oh, it’s just the title of the song. She was just meaninglessly tweeting the name of the song playing that second. As one does.
