Roof collapses are a very real danger in Massachusetts this year, as the state’s been battered with relentless winter storms and record-breaking snowfalls. This danger became a nightmarish reality when the top of the local Metropolis Skating Rink caved in the city of Canton.

The accident happened at 7:15 a.m. in an area of New England that’s seen over 100 inches of snow this month alone. First the back of the building’s roof fell, followed by the front section. Thankfully, those who were in the vicinity — including employees, a youth hockey team, and parents — managed to escape uninjured.
