One of the things we learned from yesterday’s SXSW interactive panel with Jimmy Kimmel is that his pee hole closed up while working at KROQ. If you’re anything like me, you were probably like, “Huh. Can we please get an elaboration on this whole closed up pee hole situation?” Well, fear not because Marc Malkin with E! News asks the hard-hitting questions, and he got to the bottom of this story. As it turns out, poor Jimmy Kimmel needed two different painful and horrible-sounding surgeries to fix his penis.

“It just kind of closed up on it’s own,” he explained. “I don’t know why it happened. I still don’t know why.”

“The guy said, ‘Your urethra’s closing up and you need it operated on,’ and they did,” Kimmel recalled. “And then they said, ‘Yeah, we didn’t get it, it didn’t quite work. We need to do it again.’ And they did it again.”

“I’m a real pee hole,” Kimmel cracked, before adding, “It’s a horrible process by the way—a horrible horrible process.”

File this one under “women have to deal with childbirth and menstruation and sexism and all sorts of unpleasant stuff,” but the looming threat that we live in a world where men live in fear of having their penis hole close up makes me happier than ever that I was born a woman.
