More X-Men: First Class Photos, Poster, And Higher-Res January Jones

Remember that badly-lit, photoshop disaster-ish first photo of the X-Men: First Class cast in costume?  It turns out the reason it was pulled off MSN so quickly was because director Matthew Vaughn saw it and flipped the hell out. He tells /film:

“I freaked out on them yesterday. I don’t know where the hell that came from. I don’t think it’s a Fox image. It’s not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the f*ck is this sh*t, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It’s like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn’t reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it. I was like ‘Jesus Christ’.”

Vaughn also released some much higher-quality pictures and a teaser poster to make up for that weirdly lit, disavowed cast photo.  He also says of the reboot’s plot:

“Imagine the Cuban Missile crisis and discovering that mutants exist, both at the same time.” [/film]

And he goes on to describe the action of the film:

“I think it’s boring watching CG and big explosions. I’m sorta over that. I’d say it’s got more character-driven action than action for the sake of action.” [/film]

A single tear just streamed down Michael Bay’s face.

On the next pages are the new, approved pictures and a higher-res version of that unapproved picture with January Jones in a bra, just to annoy Matthew Vaughn with the unapprovedness of it all, of course. Not because we’re appealing to prurient interests over here.  We also chose that picture above as the banner because we respect Kevin Bacon’s body of work.  And what a slamming body of work it is.

We probably should have been looking at the board. Neither of those squares exist.
