Like many cities which were established long before modern traffic patterns became a notion, Philadelphia highways have a reputation for being… not the best. There’s a reason why the I-76 Schuylkill Expressway, the major artery that runs through and out of the city has been nicknamed the “Surekill Expressway” by locals. But that didn’t stop one man from riding down Roosevelt Boulevard, which connects the Schuylkill to northeast Philly, on a dang big wheel on Sunday afternoon.
Akeem Edwards, who witnessed the incident — which straight up seems like a something right out of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia — told Philadelphia’s NBC 10, “I just so happened to maneuver my way to the front of the traffic and I saw the guy on the trike. I’m like, ‘what the heck?'” What the heck, indeed! As you can see in the above video, Edwards said, “He actually looked at me and he smiled as he was rolling by.” Another witness noted that the man was not wearing a helmet, which honestly seems like the least of this dude’s problems.
Police say they’re investigating the video, but so far no charges have been filed and it’s unclear if the man was ever even identified. You can probably chalk it up to just another day in sunny Philadelphia.
