After roughly six years of sharing the @BarackObama Twitter account with the Organizing for Action staff, President Obama joined twitter with the username @POTUS on Monday. Aside from showing his Chicago sports allegiance, the current Commander-in-Chief traded quips with former President Bill Clinton regarding the use of his new and unique Twitter handle:
Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account.

Welcome to @Twitter, @POTUS! One question: Does that username stay with the office? #askingforafriend
— Bill Clinton (@BillClinton) May 18, 2015
Good question, @billclinton. The handle comes with the house. Know anyone interested in @FLOTUS?

CNN reports that the @POTUS handle will transfer to the next President once Obama leaves office in 2017. This leaves Barack Obama just under two years to catch up on all the presidential selfies he can muster.
Do it for the people, Mr. President!
