Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman spoke to MTV about the José Padilha reboot of RoboCop, in which Kinnaman is starring as Alex Murphy. Kinnaman confirmed the previous news that the Padhila version will maintain the satirical nature of the original franchise. He also mentioned that Padilha’s father was a scientist, which will influence the realism of the movie:
“There’s a lot of neuroscience now raising the question, ‘Is all the intelligence in the human body in the brain?’ and they’re finding out that, no, it’s not like that,” Kinnaman said. “The body has intelligence itself, and we’re much more of an organic creature in that way. It’s not a control tower that does everything.”
He added that this RoboCop “is going to be a lot more human”, a goal which seems to be extending to the design of the suit itself:
“They’re still working on the suit and how it’s going to look, but the visor is going to be see-through,” he said. “You’re going to see his eyes.” [quotes via MTV]
I didn’t realize when I photoshopped that picture above that it was so accurate. Now get that unicorn ready, Padilha. It’s for, uh, satirical purposes. Yeah.
