Believe it or not, people are still asking J.K. Rowling why she chose to make Albus Dumbledore gay in Harry Potter. Judging by her response on Twitter, she seems to be sick of answering this question. The person who asked her has since deleted their original tweet, but the exact question was, “I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can’t see him in that way.” Rowling then picked up her magic wand, waved it at her keyboard, and issued this tweet:

Rowling then transformed her wand into a mic and proceeded to drop it.

To give the fan credit, they responded positively to Rowling and said she was an inspiration, but the exchange was deleted. We might have a long way to go when it comes to even the tolerance of fictional characters, but at least the authors can slowly pave the way. With pebbles and a cheese knife.
