When Tawny Willoughby was 21, she was diagnosed with skin cancer. The Kentucky resident frequented her tanning bed four or five times a week, “and so did a lot of my friends growing up… everyone tanned.”
Six years later, Willoughby, according to CNN, “has had basal-cell carcinoma five times and squamous-cell carcinoma once,” and she goes to the dermatologist biannually. Willoughby also recently shared via Facebook what it looks like to have skin cancer in your 20s, along with the message, “If anyone needs a little motivation to not lay in the tanning bed and sun, here ya go… You only get one skin, and you should take care of it.”
She added, “Learn from other people’s mistakes. Don’t let tanning prevent you from seeing your children grow up. That’s my biggest fear now that I have a 2-year-old little boy of my own.”
Remember that, Wynn Duffy.
