Most of what we put out here involves TV or film or sports or games or music, but every now and then we take a time out to highlight something much more important than all of that. This is one of those times.
Some friends of an Uproxx staff member, Matt and Jill Zane — both adored school teachers in the Wall Township, New Jersey school district — need help. Their son Caden is very sick.
One of their three children, Caden, is a medically complex, chronically ill disabled little boy. Every day is a serious struggle for Caden, vomiting constantly and often crying through sleepless nights. These are just a few of the many difficulties Caden endures. With very little understanding of Caden’s condition, the Zane family has struggled to get him the help he needs.
Compounding matters, Jill was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones and some of her organs. She will soon begin undergoing intensive treatments to try to beat back the dastardly disease that’s invaded her body.
Some friends, family and students of the Zanes are trying to raise funds to help them deal with the financial burden of the medical issues they’re dealing with and will have to deal with in the future.
