A couple months ago 2K Games revealed that its much-maligned XCOM FPS project had undergone some changes — the game was now called The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, took place during the swingin’ 60s, and most importantly, was now a 3rd person shooter than put a lot of emphasis on tactics.
Sounds good, but so far the game’s trailers have been mostly live-action footage playing up the game’s 60s spy theme, with only brief bits of gameplay being shown. That changes now though — perhaps sensing people are still a bit concerned about how The Bureau will actually play, the game’s latest trailer is just 5-minutes of uninterrupted gameplay, and it looks pretty promising.

You’ll note the main guy never fires a single shot during the trailer, as it looks like you’re going to have a fair amount of freedom to choose whether you want to personally charge in guns a-blazing, or hold back and solve things tactically. Also, I’m all for any shooter that replaces bald space marines or guys in robot suits with Don Draper-esque dudes in fedoras. If I’ve gotta kill some aliens, I’d prefer to do it in style.
