In a concept so brilliant that I’m going to listen to Elliot Smith songs for the rest of the day because I’m so depressed that I didn’t think of it, Tumblr blog Twerking It to Indie Rock finds ass-shaking videos from the Official Twerk Team YouTube account, and pairs them up with mandolin-, acoustic guitar-, and beard-based sad bastard songs.
So, instead of Lady Luscious moving what her mama gave her to “Down On Me” by Jeremiah and 50 Cent, she’s now twerkin’ it to Bon Iver’s “Holocene,” named after both the geological era AND a bar in Portland where Justin Vernon spent a long, lonely night drinking by himself.
