Recently Double Fine Productions started a great new web series called Devs Play, in which game makers play through their own games, while dropping all sorts of inside stories and tidbits about their creation. We previously showed you one of the guys behind the classic 16-bit Aladdin and Lion King titles playing through his old games, and now we have John Romero, lead designer of the original Doom, tackling his most famous creation. Honestly though, you probably won’t be able to concentrate on the gameplay or stories since Romero’s hair is still a thing of God-like magnificence.
Here’s the first couple videos from Romero’s epic playthrough of Doom (it’s a whopping 10 parts in all)…
If you’d like to watch this entire episode of Devs Play, you can watch all 10 videos here. Now, how about Double-Fine set us up with a John Romero playthrough of Daikatana?
