Sometimes we make mistakes that are really embarrassing and tough to live down, and sometimes we make mistakes that are just dumb and caused by big, fat sausage fingers. And then sometimes a mistake happens because it was destined to be made, and even though someone might really regret it and feel like a dick about it, we are all required by Internet Law to have a good laugh over it. So if you’ve been watching and hearing all of this Robert Durst news and making bad Limp Bizkit jokes on Twitter with your friends, the Associated Press made an oopsie that you’re simply going to love.
In copy that was sent out with the AP’s California 10th NewsMinute yesterday evening, the real estate heir and subject of The Jinx was erroneously mixed up with the man who did it all for the nookie, and now does things like direct eHarmony commercials for the money.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) – A Louisiana State Police trooper says millionaire Robert Durst has been booked on weapons charges in that state – on top of a first-degree murder charge lodged by Los Angeles authorities. Trooper Melissa Matey told the Associated Press that an arrest warrant was issued for the former Limp Bizkit frontman and he was rebooked in the Orleans Parish Jail on Monday under two new charges.
This morning, according to JimRomenesko.com and various news outlets, the AP issued the following correction:
In the second item of the California 10th NewsMinute sent March 16 to users of the state broadcast wire, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Robert Durst is a member of a band. He is a real estate heir; Fred Durst is the former frontman of Limp Bizkit.
Obviously, with the way things are going for Robert right now, he’d probably change places with Fred Durst in a heartbeat. In fact, that might be a great idea for Andrew Jarecki’s next project.
