We’ve seen time and again the hilarious misfortune that befalls people who think they’ve got the right number, but are a digit (or maybe even 10) off. Usually, it’s fun for us, but someone ends up becoming the poor victim and being mercilessly mocked all over the internet for at least a day or two. Not this time! A group of dudes who got a wrong-number text about the announcement of a baby didn’t just congratulate the new mom on her new arrival (yay, babies!) but actually went to the hospital where they surprised everyone with gifts and took pictures.
The post, which went viral over the weekend on Imgur, originally featured real contact numbers — some assumed because the person texting wanted more free presents, but actually because the OP didn’t know how to blur, so what you’ll see above is edited but not any less heartwarming.
How awesome is it to see human beings doing some good for each other? And what a great story for the baby, who’s an internet celebrity even before reaching their first birthday (not as big a feat these days, but still an important milestone).
