Donald Trump participated in a Reddit AMA on Wednesday, and his answers were actually pretty tame. Of course, his time was limited, since he participated in this AMA while flying to a rally in Toledo, Ohio. Plus, when you’re answering questions from the The Donald subreddit, you can get those members to say outrageous things for you.
Here are the most interesting things that happened during this AMA:
Most of Milo Yiannopoulos’ questions were deleted.
Milo Yiannopoulos, who you may know as the Breitbart reporter who got banned from Twitter for trolling Leslie Jones, posted several questions about voter fraud, net neutrality, and weirdly, each state’s right to to set their own speed limits. When most of the questions were deleted from the AMA page, Reddit took notice:
The question from Yiannopoulous that Trump did answer was his question on H1-B visa reform.
Why did Trump answer this one? Maybe because it was about his pet topic, immigration.
I have put forward a detailed plan for H-1B reform to protect American workers which can viewed on the immigration paper on my website. My plan is the exact opposite of Crooked Hillary Clinton.
Trump may have chosen this question to answer, because he found it to be a golden opportunity to mention his opponent, Hillary Clinton, and his favorite adjective to put in front of her name.
This wasn’t Trump’s only mention of “Crooked Hillary.”
Trump made the most of his opportunities to mention his opponent, shoehorning her into questions that didn’t mention her directly, like Yiannopoulos’ question above and this one on how he’d remove the influence of money on politics:
Keeping Crooked Hillary Clinton out of the White House!
Unsurprisingly, the Donald Trump subreddit doesn’t like Clinton either.
Of course, members of the The Donald subreddit were happy to bring up critical questions about Clinton and why she refuses to hold press conferences for an extended period of time:
Crooked Hillary Clinton will not do press conferences because she cannot explain her illegally deleted 33,000 emails, or her disaster in Libya, or her role pushing TPP (which she would 100% approve if she got the chance), or her support for a 550% increase in Syrian refugees, etc.
Maybe Trump knows that he doesn’t have to go too far in making fun of his opponents. Redditors will do it for him, like this one, who also brought Jeb Bush into it as well:
Trump made another play for Bernie Sanders supporters.
Sensing an opportunity in the Bernie or Bust movement, Trump took another opportunity to court those who are open to supporting Trump instead.
Though Bernie is exhausted and has given up on his revolution, many of his voters still want to keep up the fight. I expect that millions of Bernie voters will refuse to vote for Hillary because of her support for the War in Iraq, the invasion of Libya, NAFTA and TPP, and of course because she is totally bought and sold by special interests. She and her husband have been paid millions and millions by global corporations and powerful interests who will control her every decision. She is their puppet, and they pull the strings.
We welcome with open arms all voters who want an honest government and to fix our rigged system so it works for the people. This includes fixing one of Bernie’s biggest issues, our terrible trade deals that strip our country of its jobs and wealth.
Trump gets points in specifically mentioning some issues that Sanders supporters are passionate about, like special interests in politics and free trade. But I wonder how Sanders himself would feel about Trump saying that he has “given up.”
Trump loves NASA.
During this AMA, Trump reiterated a bunch of well-known opinions that he holds, that Obamacare is disastrous, that the media lies, and that he loves the police. But did you know that Trump also loves NASA? He answered questions about voter fraud and how NASA can Make America Great Again:
1 – Voter fraud is always a serious concern and authorities must be vigilant from keeping those from voting that are not authorized to do so.
2 – Honestly I think NASA is wonderful! America has always led the world in space exploration.
Perhaps Trump thinks that NASA is one of the only things that’s still great about America. We’ll see if voters let him make anything else about the country great again when they vote in November. Trump wrote in one answer that he never gets tired of winning, and he is confident that people will choose him on election day.
