Trademark Filings Point To An Elite New Wrestling Promotion

Being The Elite

Since All In happened in September, there have been lots of rumors that run in two opposite directions. Either Cody and the Young Bucks are on their way to WWE, or they’re trying to start their own wrestling promotion. The more time passes, the more it sounds like the latter option is the likely one. With all their connections in indie wrestling, and a big successful show under their belts, the possibility of the Elite building their own promotion seems increasingly likely.

As first reported by WrestlingNews.co, some trademarks filed by a newly-formed Florida-based company seem to imply that the project is really getting off the ground:

The following trademarks were filed within the last week by All Elite Wrestling, LLC.

– AEW Double Or Nothing

– AEW All Out

– AEW

– Tuesday Night Dynamite

– ALL OUT

– Double Or Nothing

– All Elite Wrestling

In addition to the obvious prominence of the “Elite” and the obvious counterpoint “All Out,” the name “Double Or Nothing” was already rumored for the second All In PPV, which is reportedly happening in Las Vegas. “Tuesday Night Dynamite” also seems to imply the possibility of a TV deal (on a night that will be wrestling-free once WWE Smackdown moves to Fridays on Fox), but we’ll have to wait for any actual details to emerge about that.

The address given for All Elite Wrestling in the filings happens to be the address for TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville Florida, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. That implies that billionaire Shahid Khan, who owns the Jaguars, is likely the money man behind this new wrestling endeavor.
