It’s official, NXT wrestler CJ Parker is packing up his hemp sack, slipping on his flip-flops and moving onto the next commune. Word is Parker requested his release, and WWE apparently granted it, as he confirmed his departure late last night on Twitter.

CJ Parker (real name Joseph Robinson) debuted in NXT as a happy dancin’ hippie who looked like Carlito and was named after Pamela Anderson’s character from Baywatch. Not exactly a winning combination, and Parker was one of the few characters the usually happy-go-lucky NXT audience didn’t take to. Eventually, Parker would become an evil, preachy hippie who would carry protest signs to the ring. Over the past few months, he’d become the designated wrestler debuting guys would beat in their first match. The writing was on the wall; you should be striving to be your best self in NXT, and that wasn’t happening for Parker.
Despite never being a hit with audiences, Parker was apparently well-liked backstage, as many fellow NXT wrestlers have posted tributes to him over the past day…
