Dark Souls III is bringing the pain to gamers in April, and many of the hardcore faithful can’t wait. But if you enjoy pain in real life, you can risk your tastebuds and colon to win the game and a console to go with it.
Offputtingly-named British restaurant chain MEATliquor is running a rather straightforward promotion. Wolf down twenty spicy wings the fastest at one of their restaurants, and you win a PS4 and Dark Souls III. Be the fastest person to eat the wings period, and you win a deluxe edition of the game, as well:
They don’t specify just how spicy these wings are, but they claim their chefs need protection to make the wings, and you have to wear gloves and sign a waiver to place an order. But because the British seem to enjoy vindaloo curry on a regular basis, they can probably take a passable run at genuinely spicy, even if America does it better.
While consuming painfully spicy chicken parts and fighting undead creatures with sword and shield don’t seem tied closely together, at least this contest offers a relatively level playing field. If Namco Bandai limited the giveaways just to people who could actually fight with swords, it’d mostly just be giving the game to the Armored Combat League. So, while strong British stomachs will attempt to get the game for free, the rest of us will just have to wait for April 12.
