New ‘The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ Footage Looks Beautiful

Right on the heels of the Nintendo Switch announcement, which has the entire internet buzzing, Nintendo also dropped another two minutes of footage from the next Zelda title, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. And it looks nothing short of amazing.

The footage is essentially a quick run-through of all the stuff you can do in the game, from hunting, logging, and going Aquaman in a pond, to the many, many types of fighting Link can do. One moment, in particular, sees Link sail off a cliff with his hang glider, drop it and freeze time, and then headshot an enemy with an arrow before nailing another one, landing, and whipping out his sword. Link is also surprisingly free with the explosive arrows and bombs, cleaning out entire enemy outposts in one shot and blowing up a rock creature he accidentally provokes.

Oh, and the whole thing looks gorgeous, to boot. The promise of a Nintendo-style Skyrim seems to be at least partially fulfilled, here, and it’ll be interesting to see how this game, likely a Nintendo Switch launch title is received both by the Nintendo faithful and by people who will be lured back to the company thanks to the Switch. We’ll see as March gets closer.
