Telltale’s The Walking Dead games will soon return with a miniseries starring everybody’s favorite katana-wielding badass, Michonne. Unlike past The Walking Dead games, this miniseries will tie in closely with the comic books, showing what Michonne was up to between issues #126 and #139 when she mysteriously left Rick’s group. It seems like the series will also fill in some crucial details about her tragic past and give us a peek into her inner thoughts.
Rather than drop a new trailer, Telltale has instead released the first six minutes of The Walking Dead: Michonne, and as you might expect, it’s intense stuff. Michonne is obviously not in a good place, as she’s haunted by visions of her daughters and old life, but her more pressing concern is the horde of zombies eager to eat her guts. If you’re into Michonne dispatching zombies in the most brutal ways possible (and really, who isn’t?) then this video is for you. Be forewarned though, when I say brutal, I mean it – maybe keep the volume down at work.
The first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne arrives Feb. 23. There will be three episodes in total, and you can pre-purchase the full series right now for $15.
