‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ May See The Return Of A Marvel Legend

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has no lack of legends. Sylvester Stallone keeps turning up on set. Kurt Russell may be Star-Lord’s dad. But, of all of the rumors, none could be more anticipated than former wielder of the Power Cosmic, honored member of many Marvel teams, trapped in a world he never made, Howard the Duck!

According to the same rumor we reported about Stallone, it looks like Howard is back, at least for one scene:

In addition to the Sly Stallone scoop, our tipster said there was also a scene shot last week that involved Howard the Duck, confirming the speculation that he may appear in GOTG2. The movie will continue filming in Atlanta for the next few months and is expected to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.

Presumably, because this is Howard we’re talking about, things have not gone well for him. Howard needs to take that up with the personification of Destiny in the Marvel Universe. That said, though, it’s nice to see this little nod thrown in for fans, both of the movie and of Howard. Ever since he got victimized by George Lucas, Howard has a bad reputation to shake off, and it looks like he’s finally getting a break. Of course, now that we say this, he’ll probably be sold to Fox and narrowly avoid getting shot in the Deadpool sequel or something. Like we said, things never go well for Howard.
