With superpowered brother-sister duo Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch a confirmed presence in “The Avengers 2,” the question now becomes: how big a role will they play in the film?
While no actual plot details were forthcoming, writer/director Joss Whedon told CraveOnline in a recent interview that the siblings will nevertheless play “a huge part” in the forthcoming sequel. Still, with Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” also including the characters in its ensemble (“American Horror Story” star Evan Peters has been cast as Quicksilver in that film), how will Whedon distinguish his treatment of the duo from Singer’s?
“I don”t know what they”re doing,” said Whedon. “And I”m determinedly not knowing. They”re going to do their thing and I have to do mine.”
Luckily for fans looking for an extra injection of estrogen into the blockbuster Marvel franchise, the Scarlet Witch may not be the only new female superhero to join the sequel – as Whedon tells Crave he’s “got some people in mind” in that regard. Any ideas who he might be thinking of, “Avengers” fans?
