We just got our first official look at the new Superman, but fans of CBS's Supergirl had been waiting for some other big news after the announcement that the show would be moving to The CW. And here it is. Yes, Calista Flockhart will return as Cat Grant for season 2.
Her continuation in the series was in doubt thanks to the show's production moving away from Los Angeles to Vancouver, which she was not thrilled with. But Flockhart is confirmed to return to the show, now on The CW, but as a recurring guest star.
As of right now, word is she”ll be appearing in the premiere and multiple other episodes. How this will affect the dynamic on the show will be interesting to see. Cat and Kara/Supergirl's relationship has been one of its better aspects.
Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Supergirl wouldn't be Supergirl without the amazing Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant. We are so excited Calista has agreed to continue on the show when she can. We and the audience love to see her on screen.” Production on the 22-episode season starts in Vancouver next week.
If you're looking to get caught up on the show, you're in luck! Tonight The CW starts airing the first season leading up to the October 10 premiere at 8 p.m. before Jane the Virgin. There's now set to be a superhero show on the network every day except Fridays and all four are expected to have a big crossover sometime this season.
