Looks like third time’s the charm for Wesley Snipes, at least as far as the “Expendables” franchise is concerned.
“I know that [producers are] talking [with Wesley], and I know it looks really good right now,” franchise star Terry Crews told us on the red carpet at yesterday’s “Arrested Development” Season 4 premiere. “So I’m really happy that he…it looks like he’s able to do it. Believe me, I’m making the pitch, cause I would love it.”
While series star and producer Sylvester Stallone sent out a tweet earlier this month hinting that Snipes (who was originally cast in the first film before being brought to trail on tax evasion charges) would indeed be joining the third installment of the action-movie franchise, no official announcement has yet been made. Nevertheless, Crews sees the idea of Snipes being cast as poetic justice for the actor, who was just released from prison on April 2 after serving the majority of a three-year sentence.
“I mean, it’s really weird because Wesley was actually supposed to be in the first one,” said Crews. “I was kinda like the guy who kinda replaced him in that. And it would make everything right putting him in. It’s like, with JCVD doing his thing, with Jean-Claude, Wesley’s gotta be in this thing.”
