Here’s our closest look at ‘Assassin’s Creed’ yet

We've had a few fleeting glimpses so far of the upcoming “Assassin's Creed” movie, in which Michael Fassbender hopes to star in one of the relatively few successful movies based on video games (just ask Jake Gyllenhaal).

After giving us a look at Jeremy Irons' character's business cards (yes, the email and phone numbers listed on the card actually work), a promo photo of Fassbender in character, and Lynch's back in what appears to be a still from the film, we now get to see the front of Fassbender in a still from the film, with a co-star to boot!

That's Fassbender with Ariane Labed, though we haven't been told much about who she's playing. Fassbender will portray Callum Lynch and his 15th century ancestor, Aguilar.

Fassbender also spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the movie, admitting that he hadn't played any of the approximately 125,029,181 Assassin's Creed videogames before being offered the role but has played them since, “mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character.”

“Assassin's Creed” is set to be released on December 21, 2016.
